Paints for Surfaces, Paint on Fabric, Glass, Ceramic, and Silk
Not every paint works on every surface. If you want to paint a T-shirt, decorate a glass, or embellish a ceramic vase, you need special paints for surfaces that adhere to the material, won’t crack, and stand up to washing or everyday use.
What Types of Surface Paints Do We Offer?
- Fabric paints – water-based and washable, for T-shirts, bags, and pillows
- Glass paints – transparent and opaque, for glasses, bottles, and windows
- Ceramic paints – for mugs, plates, and flower pots, with or without firing
- Silk paints – delicate and vibrant, for scarves and decorations
- Face paints – safe for skin, for carnival and kids’ parties
How to Choose the Right Paint for a Surface
The key is to know what you’ll be painting and how the item will be used:
- Will it be washed? → fabric paints that are heat-set with an iron
- Will it come into contact with food? → ceramic paints suitable for food contact
- Will it be outdoors? → exterior paints resistant to weather
Frequently Asked Questions
Can regular acrylic paints be used on fabric or glass?
Regular acrylic paints won’t withstand washing on fabric and may peel off glass. Special paints for surfaces contain additives that provide adhesion and resistance to mechanical stress.
How do you set fabric paints?
Most fabric paints are set by ironing. Simply iron the painted motif from the reverse side at 150 °C for 3–5 minutes. Once set, the motif is washable at temperatures up to 40 °C.
Are face paints safe for kids?
Yes, the face paints in our selection are dermatologically tested and suitable for kids ages 3 and up. They wash off easily with soap and water.
