3D+ PROFI Canvas — Artwork That Extends Beyond the Surface
3D+ PROFI Canvas is made in Italy from 100% cotton with a weight of 370 g/m² and a universal double gesso priming. It is stretched over a spruce stretcher frame with a depth of 5.8 cm, ready for oil paints, acrylic paints, and texture mediums, and comes in 15 sizes from 20 × 20 to 60 × 60 cm. It is exactly the same canvas as the classic PROFI canvas, with the same Italian cotton, weight, and double gesso priming. Only the stretcher bars are different. The deep frame changes how you look at the artwork: you can carry the composition beyond the edge and onto the sides, so the finished piece hangs on the wall as an object with its own shadow. A frame is unnecessary because the sides are part of the artwork. In the 3D+ version, the side is no longer an edge but becomes a second painting surface. At 5.8 cm, it is large enough for a separate part of the composition. This format is suited to object-based work, series, and triptychs, as well as impasto and texture, because its own shadow is strongest here. The thickest stretcher bars also make for the most rigid stretcher frame, so it does not warp and the canvas does not sag.
- 100% cotton from Italy, weight 370 g/m²
- Universal double gesso priming
- Spruce stretcher frame with a depth of 5.8 cm, stretcher bars without knots
- 15 sizes, from 20 × 20 to 60 × 60 cm
The back of the canvas is brown, confirming the material’s original origin, and larger sizes have center or cross bracing to keep the frame from warping across large areas. Stretcher keys are not included. You can buy a separate pack of 8 pieces.
