I’ve been using water-mixable oil paints for about 10 years, including Artisan, Holbein Duo-Aqua, and Cobra. I decided to try Schmincke Norma, and I’ll definitely buy them again. The gold is beautiful, creamy, and has good coverage with a subtle sheen (almost sparkling, but discreetly). Payne’s gray is also great, intense for a Payne’s gray, with a violet undertone that works well with my palette. I’ll explore more colors soon.
I’m a mixed-media artist, and I’ve tried most types of paint.... These are by far the best.... Schmincke Norma Blue water-mixable oil paints are beautiful. I can’t use solvents with oil paints because they were causing me health problems.... So I tried these.... I’m thrilled with them. They’re by far the best paints I’ve used so far.
I’m REALLY thrilled with these paints. The color is beautiful and works great with my painting technique (finger painting). My only complaint is that there could be more shades!
I switched from W&N water-mixable oil paints to the Norma Blue line. Great decision. These oil paints are creamy and buttery, with a richness that was missing from the W&N Artisan line.
High-quality paint, highly pigmented, creamy, and non-sticky. It thins very well with water or mediums. It’s my favorite brand.
