Liquitex Fluid Medium

Fluid medium Liquitex is used to thin acrylic paints and create special fluid effects, such as acrylic paint pouring. Liquitex pouring medium creates what is known as a flowing paint effect, with puddles, unusual curves, and flowing drops that merge into one. Acrylic medium helps prevent the painting from being damaged by cracking, the formation of small air bubbles, or changes in paint shade. It changes only the consistency and fluidity of the acrylic paint, improving its flow and blending. It maintains a high gloss and wet look while helping create a so-called fluid painting. The pouring medium technique is for anyone who wants to create with unlimited possibilities.

HOW TO USE

Simply pour the fluid pouring medium into a cup with the prepared acrylic paint, mix with a plastic spatula, and pour it onto the canvas. You can mix it with acrylic paints in a ratio of 5% to 95%, as needed. It’s best to prop up the canvas so the leftover acrylic paint has somewhere to drip. Rotate the canvas to create beautiful flowing patterns. For even better effects, you can use a pipette. Draw some paint into the pipette, drip it onto the canvas, then rotate the canvas again. The painting will dry in about 24 hours. To speed up drying, you can use a heat gun. See the video below for more about the product.

OUR TIP

When creating, you can pour the different shades into one plastic cup or separately onto the canvas. This keeps the acrylic paints more separate and gives you better control over their flow as you tilt the canvas. To create cells in your painting, add a few drops of silicone oil to the acrylic paints. Add minerals or glitter powder to make your work more original. For a beautiful gloss, finish by coating the fluid painting with a finishing varnish or spray.
