Customer reviews
I’ve been painting with Cobra oil paints for two years. I like their beautiful, intense colors and the way they feel to paint with. I paint with water-mixable oil paints because I don’t want to use turpentine. Cobra paints have worked really well for me, and I’ll definitely order them again.
I bought this as a beginner set, and I’m very happy with it. The colors are vibrant and mix well. It also helps that I can clean everything with just water, no dirty rags full of turpentine! If you’re starting out with oil paints, I highly recommend Cobra.
Cobra water-mixable paints are much better than the older water-mixable paints that various brands introduced a few years ago. They have a great consistency and beautiful colors. Whether you’re painting impasto or glazes, Cobra can handle it all. And the best part is that you can clean everything with just water.
I think these paints are very high quality, but the pigment colors could be more saturated. The coverage seems lower than with regular oil paints. On the other hand, being able to clean up with water is a huge advantage, and they’re great to use overall.
Titanium White. It doesn’t mix well when thinned with water. Small bits of paint form and cover surfaces with a grainy texture. You have to mix it well on the palette.
